♥ Pride and Prejudice ♥
It is hard for so many movies lovers to answer this question, what is your favorite movie? It was hard for me to answer it until i watched pride and prejudice, the 2005 version. It's based on a novel by Jane Austen, an English novelist whose known for her romantic fiction. Here is a summery of the story according to Wikipedia,
first published in 1813. The story follows the main character Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman living near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London."
Jane almost based it on her life but chose to make it more hopeful and have a better ending.
I instantly fall in love with it. I could honestly watch it over and over again ( as if, i haven't already.) It may not be everyone's cup of tea and i have seen others not loving it as much as i do. For example, i watched it with my family and they found it boring. I convinced myself that they are not as romantic as me haha But to me, it is everything. So why is it my favorite? well, the main character, Elizabeth, is pretty much me and it's the most romantic movie i have ever seen without many sexual interactions and that's very rare in today's movies. the theme might me a bit old fashion and a bit simple, but that is the beauty of it. So, if you love romantic movies that are not so cheesy or book that are more based on a family and society but still show great love, then you should definitely read the book or/and watch the movie.
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
the main character - Elizabeth Bennet
